The name Charleston is often used interchangably with both Charleston County and Charleston City. It is generally used as a term that describes an area encompassing James Island, Mount Pleasant, Downtown Charleston, West Ashley, and Johns Island. Incidentally, it is also the location that the Charleston Wiki Project is focused on.
